Steam support may be offered for Chrome OS

Google may work with Valve to provide Steam for Chrome OS.

Despite the upcoming competition of people like Epic Games with their Epic Games Store (who has already managed to create a pretty big niche for themselves), Valves Steam Store is still the dominant in the PC ecosystem. In many ways it is a synonym for PC in the gaming senses. And it could soon be extended to Chrome OS.

According to the Android police, you talked to Kan Liu, the Director of Product Management for Chrome OS. They said Google's work to support Chrome OS with Steam so it can be used on Chromebooks. Although there was circumvention in the past to launch Steam via Linux on Chrome, but this would be an official support.

Chromebooks are not known for their performance, so the game functions are restricted with the exception of the most powerful ones. Valve was very efforted to provide its service as many people as possible. Therefore, it would not be surprising if they would expand Steam on Chrome OS. We will keep you up to date as soon as more information is available.
